The eighth design in this collection.

There are so many layers to the inspiration for this design.

The flesh of the sea, a delicate aphrodisiac.

The Birth of Venus.
Conceived from the castrated genitals of Uranus which had been thrown into the sea. Aphrodite rising out of the foamy sea, carried inside a Scallop, has been the inspiration of artists for centuries.

The significance of the empty shell.
To me, represents water, life and death.
Millions upon millions of shells line the seabeds and beaches we adore.
We adorn our body with the empty vessels that once protected creatures living since the waters first created life.
Older than dinosaurs, religion, and life above water. We revere shells and pearls as treasure.
Over ages of the earth, the shell is formed, abandoned, borrowed, protected, preserved, fossilised, buried, resurrected, and worn down to a tiny grain of sand by the elements and movements of the earth.
Treasured.
